And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly; you have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which he commanded you; for now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel for ever.


Then Elkanah went home to Ramah. And the boy ministered to the Lord, in the presence of Eli the priest.


Samuel was ministering before the Lord, a boy girded with a linen ephod.


David said to Achish, “Very well, you shall know what your servant can do.” And Achish said to David, “Very well, I will make you my bodyguard for life.”


Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the Lord under Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision.
