Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou dost preserve my life; thou dost stretch out thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, and thy right hand delivers me.


But thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.


For thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on thee.


I will make them strong in the Lord and they shall glory in his name,” says the Lord.


“I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them; for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.


but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail; and when you have turned again, strengthen your brethren.”


May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.


May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,


Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was kept secret for long ages


though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad, in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of his call,


even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?


I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.


God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.


Finally, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways, heed my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.


For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,


I can do all things in him who strengthens me.


rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.


to lead a life worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.


To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.


comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.


But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from evil.


Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.


who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not in virtue of our works but in virtue of his own purpose and the grace which he gave us in Christ Jesus ages ago,


Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus with its eternal glory.


Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred which redeems them from the transgressions under the first covenant.


but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct;


As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:


whoever speaks, as one who utters oracles of God; whoever renders service, as one who renders it by the strength which God supplies; in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.


His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,


And this is what he has promised us, eternal life.


Now to him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you without blemish before the presence of his glory with rejoicing,
