And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together.


He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.


For my iniquities have gone over my head; they weigh like a burden too heavy for me.


It shall be upon Aaron's forehead, and Aaron shall take upon himself any guilt incurred in the holy offering which the people of Israel hallow as their holy gifts; it shall always be upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the Lord.

Then he released for them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him to be crucified.


For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.


This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, “He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.”


So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released for them Barabbas; and having scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

but in every nation any one who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.


And we are witnesses to all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree;


And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a tomb.


The God of our fathers raised Jesus whom you killed by hanging him on a tree.


So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.


Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness.


Do you not know that if you yield yourselves to any one as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?


By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?


But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the return you get is sanctification and its end, eternal life.


For he who has died is freed from sin.


But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.


For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures,


Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you,


Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed be every one who hangs on a tree” —


(for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true),


filled with the fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.


having canceled the bond which stood against us with its legal demands; this he set aside, nailing it to the cross.


If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the universe, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations,


For you have died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.


And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.


Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings thou hast not desired, but a body hast thou prepared for me;


and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.


For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners, exalted above the heavens.


so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.


Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects.


If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that every one who does right is born of him.


Little children, let no one deceive you. He who does right is righteous, as he is righteous.


through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
