Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth.


But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.


Then the King will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;


this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.


whom God put forward as an expiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins;


For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethren.


But when the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,


as a plan for the fulness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.


even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.


This was according to the eternal purpose which he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord,


and to make all men see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things;


the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now made manifest to his saints.


Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of our religion: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.


but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.


Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil,


for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.


chosen and destined by God the Father and sanctified by the Spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.


the life was made manifest, and we saw it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—


You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.


He who commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.


and all who dwell on earth will worship it, every one whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain.
