“When thy people Israel are defeated before the enemy because they have sinned against thee, if they turn again to thee, and acknowledge thy name, and pray and make supplication to thee in this house;


“When heaven is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against thee, if they pray toward this place, and acknowledge thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them,


He caused them to be pitied by all those who held them captive.


Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to thy holy name and glory in thy praise.


Thou didst forgive the iniquity of thy people; thou didst pardon all their sin. Selah


And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; I will give it to you for a possession. I am the Lord.’ ”


“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast.


Behold, I will gather them from all the countries to which I drove them in my anger and my wrath and in great indignation; I will bring them back to this place, and I will make them dwell in safety.


He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us and against our rulers who ruled us, by bringing upon us a great calamity; for under the whole heaven there has not been done the like of what has been done against Jerusalem.


O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, give heed and act; delay not, for thy own sake, O my God, because thy city and thy people are called by thy name.”


Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.


When they had finished eating the grass of the land, I said, “O Lord God, forgive, I beseech thee! How can Jacob stand? He is so small!”


“And when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you,


If your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there he will fetch you;


Thus the Lord gave to Israel all the land which he swore to give to their fathers; and having taken possession of it, they settled there.
