What I mean is that each one of you says, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.”


But if the unbelieving partner desires to separate, let it be so; in such a case the brother or sister is not bound. For God has called us to peace.


A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. If the husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.


I wish that all were as I myself am. But each has his own special gift from God, one of one kind and one of another.


To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain single as I do.


But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother.


Now a bishop must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, dignified, hospitable, an apt teacher,


who forbid marriage and enjoin abstinence from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.


older women like mothers, younger women like sisters, in all purity.


if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of being profligate or insubordinate.


Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the immoral and adulterous.
