So they made their father drink wine that night also; and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.


Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet unborn may praise the Lord:


You shall be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and a horror, to the nations round about you, when I execute judgments on you in anger and fury, and with furious chastisements—I, the Lord, have spoken—


and the enemy who sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the close of the age, and the reapers are angels.


Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the close of the age.


Besides this you know what hour it is, how it is full time now for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed;


the night is far gone, the day is at hand. Let us then cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light;


For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.


But the words, “it was reckoned to him,” were written not for his sake alone,


Now these things are warnings for us, not to desire evil as they did.


I mean, brethren, the appointed time has grown very short; from now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none,


Does he not speak entirely for our sake? It was written for our sake, because the plowman should plow in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of a share in the crop.


Now this is an allegory: these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar.


Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand.


not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.


“For yet a little while, and the coming one shall come and shall not tarry;


Children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come; therefore we know that it is the last hour.
