My heart brings forth a goodly thing; my words that I indite Concern the King: my tongue's a pen of one that swift doth write.


Give ear unto my words, O Lord, my meditation weigh.


The mighty God, the Lord, hath spoken, and did call The earth, from rising of the sun, to where he hath his fall.


From out of Sion hill, which of excellency And beauty the perfection is, God shined gloriously.


Lord, hear my pray'r, hide not thyself from my entreating voice:


O Lord, thou hast rejected us, and scatter'd us abroad; Thou justly hast displeased been; return to us, O God.


Save me, O God, because the floods do so environ me, That ev'n unto my very soul come in the waters be.


Thy people thou didst safely lead, like to a flock of sheep; By Moses' hand and Aaron's thou didst them conduct and keep.


But his own people, like to sheep, thence to go forth he made; And he, amidst the wilderness, them, as a flock, did lead.


Moreover, he the tabernacle of Joseph did refuse; The mighty tribe of Ephraim he would in no wise chuse:


Turn us again, Lord God of hosts, and upon us vouchsafe To make thy countenance to shine, and so we shall be safe.
