When they had brought them outside, they said, “Flee for your life; do not look back or stop anywhere in the plain; flee to the hills, or else you will be consumed.”


Come down and sit in the dust, virgin daughter Babylon! Sit on the ground without a throne, daughter Chaldea! For you shall no more be called tender and delicate.


Go out from Babylon; flee from Chaldea; declare this with a shout of joy; proclaim it; send it forth to the end of the earth; say, “The Lord has redeemed his servant Jacob!”


Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing; go out from the midst of it; purify yourselves, you who carry the vessels of the Lord.


Shake yourself from the dust; rise up, O captive Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter Zion!


Flee from Babylon, and go out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be like male goats leading the flock.


Come out of her, my people! Save your lives, each of you, from the fierce anger of the Lord!


Flee from the midst of Babylon; save your lives, each of you! Do not perish because of her guilt, for this is the time of the Lord’s vengeance; he is repaying her what is due.


Writhe and groan, O daughter Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you shall go forth from the city and camp in the open country; you shall go to Babylon. There you shall be rescued; there the Lord will redeem you from the hands of your enemies.


He spoke to the congregation, saying, “Turn away from the tents of these wicked men and touch nothing of theirs, or you will be swept away for all their sins.”


All Israel around them fled at their outcry, for they said, “The earth will swallow us, too!”


And he testified with many other arguments and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”


Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you do not take part in her sins and so that you do not share in her plagues,
