I say to the boastful, “Do not boast,” and to the wicked, “Do not lift up your horn;


do not lift up your horn on high or speak with insolent neck.”


The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, says the Lord.


The man clothed in linen, who was upstream, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven. And I heard him swear by the one who lives forever that it would be for a time, two times, and half a time and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be accomplished.


I approached one of the attendants to ask him the truth concerning all this. So he said that he would disclose to me the interpretation of the matter:


you who rejoice in Lo-debar, who say, “Have we not by our own strength taken Karnaim for ourselves?”


You pierced with their own arrows the head of his warriors, who came like a whirlwind to scatter us, gloating as if ready to devour the poor who were in hiding.


And I looked up and saw four horns.


And I asked, “What are they coming to do?” He answered, “Those are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no head could be raised, but these have come to terrify them, to strike down the horns of the nations that lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter its people.”


Then I said, “What are these, my lord?” The angel who spoke with me said to me, “I will show you what they are.”


Then I asked, “Where are you going?” He answered me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide and how long it is.”


“For thus says the Lord of hosts: Just as I purposed to bring disaster upon you when your ancestors provoked me to wrath, and I did not relent, says the Lord of hosts,
