Hoping against hope, he believed that he would become “the father of many nations,” according to what was said, “So shall your descendants be.”


For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible.

Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.


But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
