And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.


For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce great signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.


“No one can serve two masters, for a slave will either hate the one and love the other or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.


“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.


Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor.


The one who serves Christ in this way is acceptable to God and has human approval.


For your obedience is known to all; therefore, I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and guileless in what is evil.


But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by its cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.


For we are not peddlers of God’s word like so many, but as persons of sincerity, as persons sent from God, we are speaking in Christ before God.


We have renounced the shameful, underhanded ways; we refuse to practice cunning or to falsify God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we commend ourselves to the conscience of everyone in the sight of God.


Am I now seeking human approval or God’s approval? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Christ.


All of them are seeking their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.


Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, and their glory is in their shame; their minds are set on earthly things.


I am saying this so that no one may deceive you with plausible arguments.


since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ.


and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.


and wrangling among those who are depraved in mind and bereft of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.
