To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,


And if I have prophetic powers and understand all mysteries and all knowledge and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.


Now concerning food sacrificed to idols: we know that “all of us possess knowledge.” Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.


For if others see you, who possess knowledge, eating in the temple of an idol, might they not, since their conscience is weak, be encouraged to the point of eating food sacrificed to idols?


It is not everyone, however, who has this knowledge. Since some have become so accustomed to idols until now, they still think of the food they eat as food offered to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.


Now as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in utmost eagerness, and in our love for you—so we want you to excel also in this generous undertaking.


for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true.


having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.


It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because I hold you in my heart, for all of you are my partners in God’s grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.


Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.


Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.


And we urge you, brothers and sisters, to admonish the idlers, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with all of them.


To this end we always pray for you, asking that our God will make you worthy of his call and will fulfill by his power every good resolve and work of faith,


I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you.


Confident of your obedience, I am writing to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask.


For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic elements of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food,


Even though we speak in this way, beloved, we are confident of better things in your case, things that belong to salvation.


Therefore I intend to keep on reminding you of these things, though you know them already and are established in the truth that has come to you.


I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and you know that no lie comes from the truth.
