Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God.


For rulers are not a terror to good conduct but to bad. Do you wish to have no fear of the authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive its approval,


Therefore one must be subject, not only because of wrath but also because of conscience.


You will say to me then, “Why then does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?”


Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,


Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, for you know that we who teach will face stricter judgment.


For the Lord’s sake be subject to every human authority, whether to the emperor as supreme
