When God began to create the heavens and the earth,


Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba and there called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.

May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works—


You set the earth on its foundations, so that it shall never be shaken.


Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.


For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.


When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established;


Before the mountains were brought forth or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.


Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock.


Lift up your eyes on high and see: Who created these? He who brings out their host and numbers them, calling them all by name; because he is great in strength, mighty in power, not one is missing.


For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders, and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.


Hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear.


It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.


so that you may be children of your Father in heaven, for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.


But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’


No one has ever seen God. It is the only Son, himself God, who is close to the Father’s heart, who has made him known.


If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.


“Since we are God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the deity is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of mortals.


“Brothers and fathers, listen to the defense that I now make before you.”


For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.


but is now disclosed and through the prophetic writings is made known to all the gentiles, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith—


Therefore you are without excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others, for in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things.


They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, as their own conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts will accuse or perhaps excuse them


Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scholar? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?


He subdues the ancient gods, shatters the forces of old; he drove out the enemy before you and said, ‘Destroy!’


And when you look up to the heavens and see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, do not be led astray and bow down to them and serve them, things that the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples everywhere under heaven.


He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation,


For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,


To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.


It is he alone who has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see; to him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.


By faith he left Egypt, unafraid of the king’s anger, for he persevered as though he saw him who is invisible.


how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to worship the living God!
