Go now, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it on a scroll, so that it may be for the time to come as a witness forever.


Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Write in a book all the words that I have spoken to you.


Then the Lord answered me and said: Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so that a runner may read it.


A certain woman named Lydia, a worshiper of God, was listening to us; she was from the city of Thyatira and a dealer in purple cloth. The Lord opened her heart to listen eagerly to what was said by Paul.

“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of the First and the Last, who was dead and came to life:


And the one who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.”


And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.


“It is I, Jesus, who sent my angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”


“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works; you have a name of being alive, but you are dead.


“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the origin of God’s creation:


Yet you have still a few persons in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes; they will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy.
