The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and delivers them.


Be to me a rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.


“I am going to send an angel in front of you, to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared.


In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.


Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and who rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord!


What then do you gain by going to Egypt, to drink the waters of the Nile? Or what do you gain by going to Assyria, to drink the waters of the Euphrates?


saying to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.’ ”


Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
