Then his wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, “Let a pole fifty cubits high be made, and in the morning tell the king to have Mordecai hung on it; then go with the king to the banquet in good spirits.” This advice pleased Haman, and he had the pole made.


The king said, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king’s palace to speak to the king about having Mordecai hung on the pole that he had prepared for him.


how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, one who drinks iniquity like water!


Those who seek my life lay their snares; those who seek to hurt me speak of ruin and meditate on treachery all day long.


You love evil more than good and lying more than speaking the truth. Selah


You who love the Lord, hate evil; he guards the lives of his faithful; he rescues them from the hand of the wicked.


for their minds devise violence, and their lips talk of mischief.


These also are sayings of the wise: Partiality in judging is not good.


For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble.


I held out my hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices;


“For my people are foolish; they do not know me; they are stupid children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil but do not know how to do good.”


Thus says the Lord: Stand at the crossroads and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, “We will not walk in it.”


I have given heed and listened, but they do not speak honestly; no one repents of wickedness, saying, “What have I done!” All of them turn to their own course like a horse plunging headlong into battle.


Hate evil and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.


Woe to those who devise wickedness and evil deeds on their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in their power.


He has told you, O mortal, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?
