And God saw that the earth was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted its ways upon the earth.


Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one can.


how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, one who drinks iniquity like water!


I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek out your servant, for I do not forget your commandments.


Fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt; they do abominable deeds; there is no one who does good.


Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you.


My wounds grow foul and fester because of my foolishness;


The wicked go astray from the womb; they err from their birth, speaking lies.


Pharaoh arose in the night, he and all his officials and all the Egyptians, and there was a loud cry in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead.


And the Lord did as Moses asked: he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his officials, and from his people; not one remained.


Surely there is no one on earth so righteous as to do good without ever sinning.


See, this alone I found, that God made human beings straightforward, but they have devised many schemes.


All we like sheep have gone astray; we have all turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.


We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy cloth. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.


for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living water, and dug out cisterns for themselves, cracked cisterns that can hold no water.


I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.


since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;


I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one person wise enough to decide between brothers and sisters?


Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of flesh and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God.


All of us once lived among them in the passions of our flesh, doing the will of flesh and senses, and we were by nature children of wrath, like everyone else,


‘Not one of these—not one of this evil generation—shall see the good land that I swore to give to your ancestors,
