When the mourning was over, David sent and brought her to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord,


He put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.


But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I shall come out like gold.


Does he not see my ways and number all my steps?


I keep your precepts and decrees, for all my ways are before you.


I try to count them—they are more than the sand; I come to the end—I am still with you.


For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.


Woe to those who hide a plan too deep for the Lord, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?”


Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? says the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.


His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and will gather his wheat into the granary, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”
