And King Melchizedek of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High.


The Lord swore to David a sure oath from which he will not turn back: “One of the sons of your body I will set on your throne.


It is he who shall build the temple of the Lord; he shall bear royal honor and shall sit upon his throne and rule. There shall be a priest by his throne, with peaceful understanding between the two of them.


God is not a human being, that he should lie, or a mortal, that he should change his mind. Has he promised, and will he not do it? Has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
