They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.


those who trust in their wealth and boast of the abundance of their riches?


Put no confidence in extortion, and set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them.


The wealth of the rich is their fortress; the poverty of the poor is their ruin.


Your people shall all be righteous; they shall possess the land forever. They are the shoot that I planted, the work of my hands, so that I might be glorified.


They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green; in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit.


But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’


As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches but rather on God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
