So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet after Athaliah had been killed with the sword at the king’s house.


when she looked, there was the king standing by his pillar at the entrance, and the captains and the trumpeters beside the king, and all the people of the land rejoicing and blowing trumpets, and the singers with their musical instruments leading in the celebration. When the wicked prevail, people go into hiding, but when they perish, the righteous increase.


When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.


Then the heavens and the earth and all that is in them shall shout for joy over Babylon, for the destroyers shall come against her out of the north, says the Lord.


So perish all your enemies, O Lord! But may your friends be like the sun as it rises in its might.” And the land had rest forty years.
