I come to my garden, my sister, my bride; I gather my myrrh with my spice; I eat my honeycomb with my honey; I drink my wine with my milk. Eat, friends, drink, and be drunk with love.


So you have pain now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.


Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.


as you have already understood us in part—that on the day of the Lord Jesus we are your boast even as you are our boast.


We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you an opportunity to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast in outward appearance and not in the heart.


For if I have been somewhat boastful about you to him, I was not put to shame, but just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting to Titus has proved true as well.


I am being completely frank with you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with consolation; I am overjoyed in all our affliction.


But God, who consoles the downcast, consoled us by the arrival of Titus,


All must test their own work; then that work, rather than their neighbor’s work, will become a cause for pride.


Finally, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is not troublesome to me, and for you it is a source of steadfastness.


For it is we who are the circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and boast in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh—


I rejoice in the Lord greatly that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned for me but had no opportunity to show it.


Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
