He shall pitch his palatial tents between the sea and the beautiful holy mountain. Yet he shall come to his end, with no one to help him.


Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were all broken in pieces and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors, and the wind carried them away, so that not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.


just as you saw that a stone was cut from the mountain not by hands and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. The great God has informed the king what shall be hereafter. The dream is certain and its interpretation trustworthy.”

Again he uttered his oracle, saying, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?


“So when you see the desolating sacrilege, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),


“Show me a denarius. Whose head and whose title does it bear?” They said, “Caesar’s.”


If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and destroy both our holy place and our nation.”
