The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”


The Lord swore to David a sure oath from which he will not turn back: “One of the sons of your body I will set on your throne.


Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger shut up his compassion?” Selah


I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips.


Once and for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David.


and the remaining bows of Kedar’s warriors will be few, for the Lord, the God of Israel, has spoken.”


Yet he is wise and can bring disaster; he does not depart from his words but will rise against the house of the evildoers and against the helpers of those who work iniquity.


The grass withers; the flower fades,]] but the word of our God will stand forever.


calling a bird of prey from the east, the man for my purpose from a far country. I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have planned, and I will do it.

For there is still a vision for the appointed time; it speaks of the end and does not lie. If it seems to tarry, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.


For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, have not perished.


I the Lord have spoken; surely I will do thus to all this wicked congregation gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall come to a full end, and there they shall die.”

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.


for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.


It is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all those descended from Israel are Israelites,


if we are faithless, he remains faithful— he cannot deny himself.


in the hope of eternal life that God, who never lies, promised before the ages began—


so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible that God would prove false, we who have taken refuge might be strongly encouraged to seize the hope set before us.


but this one became a priest with an oath because of the one who said to him, “The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, ‘You are a priest forever’ ”


Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.


Or do you suppose that the scripture speaks to no purpose? Does the spirit that God caused to dwell in us desire envy?


Not one of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.


Moreover, the Glory of Israel will not deceive or change his mind, for he is not a mortal, that he should change his mind.”


On that day I will fulfill against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end.
