He sent his servant Moses and Aaron, whom he had chosen.


After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’s assistant, saying,


“Truly I tell you, among those born of women no one has arisen greater than John the Baptist, yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.


if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.


When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, and as he approached to look, there came the voice of the Lord:


What, then, did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.


I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their own people; I will put my words in the mouth of the prophet, who shall speak to them everything that I command.


Then Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of Moab, at the Lord’s command.


“My servant Moses is dead. Now proceed to cross the Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the Israelites.


The Lord said to the accuser, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and turns away from evil.”


Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then he would return to the camp, but his young assistant, Joshua son of Nun, would not leave the tent.
