David was told that Ahithophel was among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, “O Lord, I pray you, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.”


At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I should give you.”


O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man!” At the time, I was cupbearer to the king.


When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days, fasting and praying before the God of heaven.


I said, “O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments,


Then I replied to them, “The God of heaven is the one who will give us success, and we his servants are going to start building, but you have no share or claim or memorial in Jerusalem.”


Then I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor with you, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my ancestors’ graves, so that I may rebuild it.”


The king said to her, “What is it, Queen Esther? What is your request? Even to half of my kingdom, it shall be given you.”


While they were drinking wine, the king said to Esther, “What is your petition? It shall be granted you. And what is your request? Even to half of my kingdom, it shall be fulfilled.”


On the second day, as they were drinking wine, the king again said to Esther, “What is your petition, Queen Esther? It shall be granted you. And what is your request? Even to half of my kingdom, it shall be fulfilled.”


O give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.


In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.


Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “My teacher, let me see again.”


The tribune took him by the hand, drew him aside privately, and asked, “What is it that you have to report to me?”


Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
