“Remember now, O Lord, I implore you, how I have walked before you in faithfulness with a whole heart and have done what is good in your sight.” Hezekiah wept bitterly.


The king commanded the high priest Hilkiah, the priests of the second order, and the guardians of the threshold to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

King Hezekiah and the officials commanded the Levites to sing praises to the Lord with the words of David and of the seer Asaph. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed down and worshiped.

And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and they purified the people and the gates and the wall.


Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God and for his service.


and I provided for the wood offering, at appointed times, and for the first fruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.


Remember for my good, O my God, all that I have done for this people.


O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is great power to redeem.


But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house; I will bow down toward your holy temple in awe of you.


Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy, blot out my transgressions.

Kings shall be your foster fathers and their queens your nursing mothers. With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.


let the wicked forsake their way and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.


Indeed, this is our boast, the testimony of our conscience: we have behaved in the world with holiness and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God—and all the more toward you.
