so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.


For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

and he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.


It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many children to glory, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.


just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep.


By a perversion of justice he was taken away. Who could have imagined his future? For he was cut off from the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people.


But he was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed.


Truly, no ransom avails for one’s life; there is no price one can give to God for it.
