And when King Jehoiakim, with all his warriors and all the officials, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death, but when Uriah heard of it, he was afraid and fled and escaped to Egypt.


“For the Son of Man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay everyone for what has been done.


Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”


Now after they had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.”


For this reason I send you prophets, sages, and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town,


Truly I tell you, all this will come upon this generation.


For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.


“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see ‘the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven’ with power and great glory.


Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place.


But if that wicked slave says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’


Keep awake, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.


Jesus said to him, “You have said so. But I tell you, From now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”


Now when Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew to Galilee.


“Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in clouds’ with great power and glory.


I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”


Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in a cloud’ with power and great glory.


After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He did not wish to go about in Judea because the Jews were looking for an opportunity to kill him.


That very night the brothers and sisters sent Paul and Silas off to Beroea, and when they arrived they went to the Jewish synagogue.


Then the brothers and sisters immediately sent Paul away to the coast, but Silas and Timothy remained behind.


After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and after encouraging them and saying farewell, he left for Macedonia.


And Saul approved of their killing him. That day a severe persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout the countryside of Judea and Samaria.
