My child, fear the Lord and the king, and do not disobey either of them,


A son honors his father and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is the honor due me? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. You say, “How have we despised your name?”


They answered, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”


When they heard this, they were amazed, and they left him and went away.


And when the crowds heard it, they were astounded at his teaching.


No one was able to give him an answer, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.


When Jesus heard him, he was amazed and said to those who followed him, “Truly I tell you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith.


And they brought one. Then he said to them, “Whose head is this and whose title?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”


you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’


He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”


I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, on the basis of God’s mercy, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable act of worship.


Pay to all what is due them: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.


No longer present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.


Honor everyone. Love the family of believers. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
