He left Nazareth and made his home in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali,


Jesus went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and curing every disease and every sickness among the people.


Immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.


As soon as they left the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.


And the whole city was gathered around the door.


And he went throughout all Galilee, proclaiming the message in their synagogues and casting out demons.


He left that place and went to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan. And crowds again gathered around him, and, as was his custom, he again taught them.


When he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home.


Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there who had a withered hand.


On the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astounded. They said, “Where did this man get all this? What is this wisdom that has been given to him? What deeds of power are being done by his hands!


And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades.


Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.


When he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, as was his custom. He stood up to read,


He said to them, “Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb, ‘Doctor, cure yourself!’ And you will say, ‘Do here also in your hometown the things that we have heard you did at Capernaum.’ ”


And Paul went in, as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days argued with them from the scriptures,


Every Sabbath he would argue in the synagogue and would try to convince Jews and Greeks.
