Then he said, “May I have a word with you?” She said, “Go on.”


They come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but they will not obey them. For flattery is on their lips, but their heart is set on their gain.


A son honors his father and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is the honor due me? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. You say, “How have we despised your name?”


At once he came up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.


On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’


A certain ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”


When Jesus perceived their questionings, he answered them, “Why do you raise such questions in your hearts?


Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician but those who are sick;


But he knew what they were thinking, and he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Come and stand in the middle.” He got up and stood there.


Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.”


“A certain moneylender had two debtors; one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.


You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for that is what I am.


Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, “Are you discussing among yourselves what I meant when I said, ‘A little while, and you will no longer see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’?


Now we know that you know all things and do not need to have anyone question you; by this we believe that you came from God.”


He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with that person.”
