The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.


You shall take all the fat that covers the entrails and the appendage of the liver and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them and turn them into smoke on the altar.


My child, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.


Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him with affliction. When you make his life an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring and shall prolong his days; through him the will of the Lord shall prosper.
