When he turned around and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two she-bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.


See, a son shall be born to you; he shall be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; indeed, his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days.


And the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.


You will lie down, and no one will make you afraid; many will entreat your favor.


For you shall be in league with the stones of the field, and the wild animals shall be at peace with you.


and may our cattle be heavy with young. May there be no breach in the walls, no exile, and no cry of distress in our streets.


He grants peace within your borders; he fills you with the finest of wheat.

If I send wild animals through the land to ravage it so that it is made desolate and no one may pass through because of the animals,


Or if I bring a sword upon that land and say, “Let a sword pass through the land,” and I cut off humans and animals from it,


Therefore thus says the Lord God: How much more when I send upon Jerusalem my four deadly acts of judgment, sword, famine, wild animals, and pestilence, to cut off humans and animals from it!


I will make with them a covenant of peace and banish wild animals from the land, so that they may live in the wild and sleep in the woods securely.


The trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase. They shall be secure on their soil, and they shall know that I am the Lord when I break the bars of their yoke and save them from the hands of those who enslaved them.


I will send famine and wild animals against you, and they will rob you of your children; pestilence and bloodshed shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I, the Lord, have spoken.”


I will make for you a covenant on that day with the wild animals, the birds of the air, and the creeping things of the ground, and I will abolish the bow, the sword, and war from the land, and I will make you lie down in safety.


I will take you for my wife in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord.


“You shall observe my statutes and faithfully keep my ordinances, so that you may live on the land securely.


The land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live on it securely.


I will let loose wild animals against you, and they shall bereave you of your children and destroy your livestock; they shall make you few in number, and your roads shall be deserted.


I will bring the sword against you, executing vengeance for the covenant, and if you withdraw into your cities, I will send pestilence among you, and you shall be delivered into enemy hands.


You shall give chase to your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.


but they shall all sit under their own vines and under their own fig trees, and no one shall make them afraid, for the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken.


the remnant of Israel; they shall do no wrong and utter no lies, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouths. Then they will pasture and lie down, and no one shall make them afraid.


The latter splendor of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts, and in this place I will give prosperity, says the Lord of hosts.”


He will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall command peace to the nations; his dominion shall be from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.


Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.


The very night before Herod was going to bring him out, Peter, bound with two chains, was sleeping between two soldiers, while guards in front of the door were keeping watch over the prison.


Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
