The glory of youths is their strength, but the beauty of the aged is their gray hair.


Listen to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old.


The people will be oppressed, everyone by another and everyone by a neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder and the base to the honorable.


Princes are hung up by their hands; no respect is shown to the elders.


You shall not revile the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind; you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.


Pay to all what is due them: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.


Do not speak harshly to an older man, but speak to him as to a father, to younger men as brothers,


Honor everyone. Love the family of believers. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
