Dan shall judge his people as one of the tribes of Israel.


He set one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan.


These are the names of the tribes: Beginning at the northern border, on the Hethlon road, to Lebo-hamath, as far as Hazar-enon (which is on the border of Damascus, with Hamath to the north), and extending from the east side to the west, Dan, one portion.


And the Danites said to him, “You had better not let your voice be heard among us, or else hot-tempered fellows will attack you, and you will lose your life and the lives of your household.”


The Danites, having taken what Micah had made and the priest who belonged to him, came to Laish, to a people quiet and unsuspecting, put them to the sword, and burned down the city.
