You shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear, for they are a rebellious house.


But you, gird up your loins; stand up and tell them everything that I command you. Do not break down before them, or I will break you before them.


“Go at once to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it, for their wickedness has come up before me.”


Later Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well! Do not sin any more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”


Therefore, bear fruit worthy of repentance,


So Jonah set out and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly large city, a three days’ walk across.


Mortal, I have made you a sentinel for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.


The word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time, saying,


Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord with which he had sent him and all the signs with which he had charged him.


and giving orders that these days of Purim should be observed at their appointed seasons, as Mordecai the Jew and Queen Esther enjoined on the Jews, just as they had laid down for themselves and for their descendants regulations concerning their fasts and their lamentations.


But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a boy,’ for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you.
