All the crowds were amazed and were saying, “Can this be the Son of David?”


The ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe only for a while and in a time of testing fall away.


Many of the Jews, therefore, who had come with Mary and had seen what Jesus did believed in him.


since it was on account of him that many of the Jews were deserting and were believing in Jesus.


Nevertheless many, even of the authorities, believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue,


Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee and revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.


He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with that person.”


“Come and see a man who told me everything I have ever done! He cannot be the Messiah, can he?”


Many Samaritans from that city believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I have ever done.”


A large crowd kept following him because they saw the signs that he was doing for the sick.


And here he is, speaking openly, but they say nothing to him! Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Messiah?


Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for he does not observe the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner perform such signs?” And they were divided.


Even Simon himself believed. After being baptized, he stayed constantly with Philip and was amazed when he saw the signs and great miracles that took place.


For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead.
