And what more can David say to you? For you know your servant, O Lord God!

And what more can David say to you for honoring your servant? You know your servant.

Again Peter denied it, and at that moment the cock crowed.


Then Jesus, knowing all that was to happen to him, came forward and asked them, “Whom are you looking for?”


Very truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you used to fasten your own belt and to go wherever you wished. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten a belt around you and take you where you do not wish to go.”


Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come back.”


Then they prayed and said, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which one of these two you have chosen


This happened three times; then everything was pulled up again to heaven.


And God, who knows the human heart, testified to them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us,


Indeed, this is our boast, the testimony of our conscience: we have behaved in the world with holiness and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God—and all the more toward you.


And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption.

In this you rejoice, even if now for a little while you have had to suffer various trials,

and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.


I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.
