and after twisting some thorns into a crown they put it on his head. They put a reed in his right hand and knelt before him and mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”


And they began saluting him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”


And he came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”


When he had said this, one of the police standing nearby struck Jesus on the face, saying, “Is that how you answer the high priest?”


Then Pilate entered the headquarters again, summoned Jesus, and asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?”
