And he dreamed that there was a stairway set up on the earth, the top of it reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.


In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the exiles by the River Chebar, the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.


“Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is my associate,” says the Lord of hosts. “Strike the shepherd, that the sheep may be scattered; I will turn my hand against the little ones.


“When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.


The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that one by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that one not to have been born.”


And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw God’s Spirit descending like a dove and alighting on him.


Then the devil left him, and suddenly angels came and waited on him.


And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”


But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic—“Stand up, take your bed, and go to your home.”


And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove upon him.


Jesus said, “I am, and ‘you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power’ and ‘coming with the clouds of heaven.’ ”


And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,


Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.


Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength.


But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”


While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them.


Now when all the people were baptized and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened,


Jesus answered, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.”


“Very truly, I tell you, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold by the gate but climbs in by another way is a thief and a bandit.


So again Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.


Very truly, I tell you, slaves are not greater than their master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them.


Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Very truly, I tell you, before the cock crows, you will have denied me three times.


Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.


Very truly, I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will have pain, but your pain will turn into joy.


On that day you will ask nothing of me. Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.


Very truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you used to fasten your own belt and to go wherever you wished. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten a belt around you and take you where you do not wish to go.”


Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.”


Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.


Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing on his own but only what he sees the Father doing, for whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise.


and he has given him authority to execute judgment because he is the Son of Man.


Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, you are looking for me not because you saw signs but because you ate your fill of the loaves.


Then Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.


Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life.


So Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.


Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.


Very truly, I tell you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.”


Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, before Abraham was, I am.”


He saw the heaven opened and something like a large sheet coming down, being lowered to the ground by its four corners.


“Look,” he said, “I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”


and to give relief to the afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels


These will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,


Without any doubt, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in flesh, vindicated in spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.


Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?


It was also about these that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “See, the Lord is coming with ten thousands of his holy ones,


Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse! Its rider is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and wages war.


After this I looked, and there in heaven a door stood open! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
