You say, ‘I am clean, without transgression; I am pure, and there is no iniquity in me.


“As God lives, who has taken away my right, and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,


So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.


I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban.


though there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.


For you say, ‘My conduct is pure, and I am clean in God’s sight.’


although you know that I am not guilty, and there is no one to deliver out of your hand?


For he crushes me with a tempest and multiplies my wounds without cause;


Turn, I pray; let no wrong be done. Turn now; my vindication is at stake.


I have indeed prepared my case; I know that I shall be vindicated.


Let us choose what is right; let us determine among ourselves what is good.


Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”?


Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert the right?


Even when I cry out, ‘Violence!’ I am not answered; I call aloud, but there is no justice.
