There is no gloom or deep darkness where evildoers may hide themselves.


Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which, in the same manner as they, indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural lust, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.


But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive opinions. They will even deny the Master who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.


These will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,


When they say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them, as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and there will be no escape!


What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath that are made for destruction,


“Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it.


For the Lord will rise up as on Mount Perazim; he will rage as in the valley of Gibeon to do his deed—strange is his deed!— and to work his work—alien is his work!


When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but dismay to evildoers.


The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright but destruction for evildoers.


when panic strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.


Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall to ruin.


But you, O God, will cast them down into the lowest pit; the bloodthirsty and treacherous shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in you.


But if the Lord creates something new and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them up, with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into Sheol, then you shall know that these men have despised the Lord.”


Their strength is consumed by hunger, and calamity is ready for their stumbling.


This is the portion of the wicked from God, the heritage decreed for them by God.”


“How often is the lamp of the wicked put out? How often does calamity come upon them? How often does God distribute pains in his anger?


For I was in terror of calamity from God, and I could not have faced his majesty.


But a certain woman threw an upper millstone on Abimelech’s head and crushed his skull.


A man saw it and told Joab, “I saw Absalom hanging in an oak.”
