About three months later Judah was told, “Your daughter-in-law Tamar has prostituted herself; moreover, she is pregnant as a result of prostitution.” And Judah said, “Bring her out, and let her be burned.”


He is not greater in this house than I am, nor has he kept back anything from me except yourself, because you are his wife. How then could I do this great wickedness and sin against God?”


this also would be an iniquity to be punished by the judges, for I should have been false to God above.

I will judge you as women who commit adultery and shed blood are judged and bring blood upon you in wrath and jealousy.


“If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.
