The pillars of heaven tremble and are astounded at his rebuke.


Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind:


“Where is the way to the dwelling of light, and where is the place of darkness,


that you may take it to its territory and that you may discern the paths to its home?


What is the way to the place where the light is distributed or where the east wind is scattered upon the earth?


He gathered the waters of the sea as in a bottle; he put the deeps in storehouses.


When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,


when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,


Do you not fear me? says the Lord; Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as a boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot pass over it.
