They are torn from the tent in which they trusted and are brought to the king of terrors.


I in turn will do this to you: I will bring terror on you, consumption and fever that waste the eyes and cause life to pine away. You shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.


that it would please God to crush me, that he would let loose his hand and cut me off!


Look on my right hand and see: there is no one who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me; no one cares for me.


The hope of the righteous ends in gladness, but the expectation of the wicked comes to nothing.


Flight shall fail the shepherds, and there shall be no escape for the lords of the flock.


who long for death, but it does not come, and dig for it more than for hidden treasures;


who rejoice exceedingly and are glad when they find the grave?
