Come down and sit in the dust, virgin daughter Babylon! Sit on the ground without a throne, daughter Chaldea! For you shall no more be called tender and delicate.


Therefore my people go into exile for lack of knowledge; their nobles are dying of hunger, and their multitude is parched with thirst.


and Dibon, and Nebo, and Beth-diblathaim,


Now it is transplanted into the wilderness, into a dry and thirsty land.


So their posterity perished from Heshbon to Dibon, and we laid waste until fire spread to Medeba.”

By then he was very thirsty, and he called on the Lord, saying, “You have granted this great victory by the hand of your servant. Am I now to die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”
