Do you not see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?


The children gather wood, the fathers kindle fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven, and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger.


The Lord gave full vent to his wrath; he poured out his hot anger and kindled a fire in Zion that consumed its foundations.


The assembly shall stone them, and with their swords they shall cut them down; they shall kill their sons and their daughters and burn up their houses.


The king was enraged. He sent his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.


About noon the next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray.


Now who were they who heard and rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt under the leadership of Moses?
